We arrived after our flight around 1:00 PM and had planned to get a bite to eat before checking in at 4:00 PM. However, when the time came, we were informed that the cleaning crew was still working and it would take a bit longer. After waiting until 5:49 PM with no update, we inquired again at 7:02 PM only to be told they would keep us posted. Eventually, we were allowed to enter around 7:45 PM, but found that there had been a plumbing issue in the downstairs bathroom, with workers still tiling the floor. They were cutting tiles until about 9:30 PM, and some construction debris, including a toilet and sink, were left in the kitchen for the duration of our stay. We received no apology for the inconvenience, despite asking for a partial refund due to the late check-in and ongoing issues. The host promised to check with the owner but we never heard back. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
This place is situated in a fantastic area and the neighborhood felt very secure. It was a great choice for our family gathering. The pool was enjoyable, but unfortunately, the heater wasn't functioning, so it was a bit chilly for swimming. However, we made great use of the hot tub, which was definitely a highlight! The guest studios by the pool are compact but offer good privacy when needed. Keep in mind that it is an older property, so there are some signs of wear. We did face issues with the refrigerator and freezer, as the freezer was not cold enough for ice and everything melted. The stairs can be tricky, and only one bedroom is located on the main level, which might not be ideal for those with mobility challenges. Additionally, there isn’t a bath or shower on the main floor. Considering the price for the area, it worked well as we shared costs amongst multiple families.
The owner was incredibly helpful during our stay. They went out of their way to accommodate us when we needed a last-minute reservation because of the hurricane evacuation.
